How do I find page numbers in my Verbum book?

Many of your Verbum references are indexed by page number. Generally, if the electronic version of the book has a corresponding print title, the current page number will display in the upper-left portion of the panel.

This means you can go directly to a location in the electronic version of the resource based on the print page number or vice versa. Enter a page number (e.g., Page 115 or 115) in the search box and press Enter.

Verbum also allows you to see page numbers within the body of your resource using Visual Filters. To do this, open the Markers menu in Formatting tab of the book and selecting the box beside Page numbers.

Why don’t some books have page numbers?

There are a variety of reasons why a book may not have page numbers:

  • They were developed as digital editions and there is no corresponding print edition.
  • The page numbers were not included in the information Verbum received from the publisher.
  • They are digital versions developed from the public domain.
  • They are a Bible, Devotional, or Lectionary where a different marking scheme is more useful.

Can I view page numbers in a Reading Plan?

When actively working through a reading plan, the view is intentionally minimal to allow you to focus on the text. For this reason, page numbers are not visible while reading from a reading plan, but you can open the book from within a reading plan to view the current page.

Tap the panel menu icon and choose Open Book. The full book will open in a new tab. If it includes page numbers, they will display like normal either at the top the tab on iOS and Android tablets, or at the bottom of the tab on Android phones.
