Social Login FAQ

Q: What is Social Login?

A: Social Login lets you create or sign in to your Verbum account using services you already use, like Google or Apple — no new password required.

Q: Do I have to use Social Login?

A: No. Social Login is optional. You can keep signing in with your email and password if that's what you prefer.

Q: Can I still use a password if I create an account with Social Login?

A: Yes. You can add or change a password in your account settings at any time. This is especially helpful if you ever lose access to your social account.

Q: What happens if I update my email address with my social identity provider or with Verbum?

A: Your access stays uninterrupted either way. If you update your email with Google or Apple, your Verbum account email won't change automatically — but you'll still be able to sign in. If you update your email directly in Verbum, your linked social accounts will still work.

Q: What if I choose not to share my email address during sign-in?

A: An email address is required to sign in. If your Google Workspace administrator has restricted email sharing — or if you opt out — you'll need to sign in with a password instead.

Q: Can I stop using a social identity provider later?

A: Yes. You can unlink social accounts from your account profile. If you haven't set a password yet, use the "Forgot password" link to create one.

Q: Can I link a different email to my Verbum account?

A: No. Social Login only links accounts with matching email addresses, so the email on your Google or Apple account needs to match the one on your Verbum account.

Q: Can I sign in with a social identity provider if I already have a password?

A: Yes. As long as your Google or Apple account uses the same email address as your Verbum account, you can sign in that way — no matter how you originally registered.

Q: What happens when I use Apple's "Hide My Email"?

A: If you choose to hide your email, we create a new account using the private relay email address. This account can't be linked to an existing account, and if you own content or have a subscription on one account, it won't be accessible from the other. If you later sign in using your real email address, we'll create a separate new account.
