macOS requires user-directed access for Verbum to interact with the operating system (such as when saving a file) and when sending information to third-party applications. It’s easy to unintentionally dismiss the prompt or deny Verbum this access when seeing these prompts for the first time or when not expecting them.
Some examples of actions where Verbum will need access from System Settings are:
- Sending verses from Copy Bible Verses to a supported word processor (Microsoft Word, Pages, etc.)
- Sharing media from the Media tool.
- Sending a book collection to a spreadsheet.
- Exporting a reading plan to Calendar (referred to as iCal in Verbum).
Solution
To resolve the above problems, we need to grant Verbum system access within macOS's Security & Privacy settings. You will find the areas of System Settings where Verbum needs access by following the steps below and checking the three following Privacy & Security sections.
Follow the steps below to open Security and Privacy:
-
Click
in the top left corner.
- Click System Settings. . .
- Click Security & Privacy.
Allow Verbum access in Calendars, Accessibility, and Automation:

Reset System Settings access for Verbum.
You may find that, as far as you can tell from System Settings, Verbyn should have the required permissions to send information from it to another application on your Mac. Resetting access will force the initial prompts to appear the next time you try to send information from Verbum to another supported application, such as those mentioned above.
- Quit Verbyn.
- Open Terminal.
- Type
sudo tccutil reset All com.logos.desktop.verbum
- Type the macOS user account password (you will not see the input; trust that it is being entered).
- Press the Return key.
