Scanning Resources Into Verbum

Using the Scan Command

Some 3rd Party publishers still distribute their materials in the Libronix Digital Library System (LDLS) format. LDLS is no longer supported, but these resources are compatible with the more current Verbum Bible Software. Follow the steps below to scan these products into Verbum.

This process is compatible with all versions of Verbum Bible Software.

Step 1: Activate your Product

If this is a new product that you have not used in LDLS, please sign in to Verbum.com and navigate click here to activate your new product.

If this is an old product that you have previously used in LDLS, you can skip this step.

Step 2: Scanning A Disc

• Insert your LDLS Product CD-Rom. (also works with LLS CD-Roms)
• Open Verbum.
• Type the following command in the "Command" box at the top of the program:
  Scan *drive letter representing your DVD drive*
  (Mac Command: "Scan Optical Media")
• Your CD/DVD Drive will be listed. Select it. (Example: "Scan E:\")
• Close Verbum, but do not remove the CD-Rom

• Open Verbum again.

Scanning a folder

To scan a folder made up of owned resources from a different machine follow the instructions below.

Windows

1. Open Verbum.
2. Click the Command/Enter passage or search box
3. Type scan C:\ and the rest of the path to where the Verbum resources are. (e.g. If the folder is on the desktop the command would look like scan c:\Users\username\Desktop)
4. The phrase typed will be repeated in the box that appears from the search bar underneath the word Tools (this is not to be mistaken for the Tools menu). Select the repeated command under that heading.

Mac

1. Open Verbum.
2. Click the Command/Enter passage or search box
3. Type scan /Users/ and the rest of the path to where the Verbum resources are.
   1. (e.g. If the folder is on the desktop the command would look like scan /Users/username/Desktop)
4. To scan removable media like a USB drive type scan /Volumes/usbdevice
5. The phrase typed will be repeated in the box that appears from the search bar underneath the word Tools (this is not to be mistaken for the Tools menu). Select the repeated command under that heading.

Tip: If any term in the path is incorrect, the path will not appear under the word Tools below the Command/Enter passage or Search box. Verify the path and try again.

At this point, Verbum should begin "Preparing your Library." This may take several minutes, depending on the amount of data to be scanned. Once complete, your books should be available in the Library. You may wish to repeat these steps with any additional LDLS products you own if they are not already visible in the Library.
